Date of event: 29-30 September
This was a fun, powerful and character building event. It was truly a success. It did not have the turn out we had expected however, it was still amazing. Having planned and facilitated the entire event, this has been my experience:
1. Planning is crucial in an event like this
I was part of an amazing planning team. Planning all the details of the event thoroughly made it much easier to facilitate the event.
2. Engage the participants
Participation was just "off the charts". The program ensured that the mind was challenged as much the body so there was never a dull moment. The most memorable part is the 3rd session where we had to exercise together (doing cardio) for 30 minutes.
3. Keeping it relevant
All the participants of this exercise were students. This meant that i had to keep the material related to students and their understanding in order to illustrate a point. The most interesting session for me was the 4th session where I shared assignment hacks, and useful software to make a students life better. They took much interest to what was shared.
4. Fulfilling my passion and vision
By the session time had ended i become the mentor of 2 students ( Thabiso Zulu & Mongizi Mazibuko , which is well within my Vision 2020. I shall do an article dedicated to my progress on mentoring.

Looking to the future, i hope to facilitate another event of this nature on a much larger scale.
